Biodiversity
CCE facilities are located in developed industrial and commercial centers near power supplies, roads and as close to customers and consumers as possible. We therefore believe that our operations have minimal influence on biodiversity-rich areas.
To gain a more in-depth understanding of potential impacts on such areas, The Coca-Cola Company is mapping and analyzing the locations of all Coca-Cola plants around the world using the World Wildlife Fund’s map of the world’s 200 biodiversity hotspots. CCE supports this initiative and will incorporate the findings into future plans.

Compliance
We strive to comply with all environmental regulations and laws wherever we operate. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, environmental accidents do happen. In 2005, there were 27 incidents for which we paid fines of US$139,000. We undertook a major compliance review in Europe in 2005, and in North America we are developing a compliance performance reporting program.

Partnering with Our Supply Chain
CCE recognizes that our environmental influence includes suppliers of raw materials. Under our Supplier Guiding Principles program, suppliers are required to comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. As described earlier, we continue to work with suppliers to achieve progress on a number of environmental challenges, including developing climate-friendly refrigeration, reducing raw materials used in packaging and increasing recycled content. We are working with key suppliers on broader environmental performance issues, to be reported on next year.

Coca-cola enterprises environmental policy

Coca-Cola Enterprises is committed to integrating responsible environmental practices into our daily operations. In our North American and European facilities and communities, we work with our suppliers/vendors, customers, consumers, community leaders and employees to identify, manage and minimize the environmental impact of our activities, products and services. Our three environmental priorities are water, solid waste and packaging, and energy.

We strive to fulfill our environmental commitment by implementing and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) which enables us to:

> Continuously review and enhance EMS as a means of improving
environmental performance

>Establish objectives and targets to measure our impact on the environment, focused on pollution prevention and the efficient use of natural resources, materials and packaging, and energy

> Work with our local communities and other businesses and civic
organizations on environmental projects and initiatives

> Use packaging that may be reused, recycled or recovered according to
their design

> Comply with applicable local environmental laws, regulations and
other requirements

The Coca-Cola Enterprises Environmental Policy Statement is available to the public and all our stakeholders via our website, www.cokecce.com, and to our employees via our intranet site.
