Building
a Strong and Diverse Workforce
We are proud to be the local bottler and distributor
of Coca-Cola products in the communities we serve.
CCE employs more than 73,000 people in the countries
in which we operate. Maintaining positive relationships
with our employees, providing them with competitive
compensation and benefits, and creating an environment
where all employees feel included and valued are important
to us.

CCE is committed to developing a workforce and management
team that mirrors our diverse customer and consumer
base by hiring the most qualified people in our local
communities. Beyond our traditional recruitment methods,
we also focus on unique forums to identify highly
qualified and diverse individuals who represent our
company’s values.
Some examples of our recruitment methods in the U.S.
include: participation in the
Women for Hire Career Expo Circuit, partnering with
organizations such as the National Society of Hispanic
MBA and the National Association of Black MBA, and
placing advertisements in magazines such as G.I. Jobs
Magazine, a publication geared toward job seekers
who have recently exited the military. CCE was recognized
last year by G.I. Jobs Magazine as the tenth most
military-friendly company among Fortune 500 companies.
Our Hire and Higher program assists high school students
who may aspire to attend college, but are unable to
do so due to financial limitations. Through this program,
they can work for CCE part-time while attending school
with upfront, company-funded tuition assistance. In
addition to these recruitment approaches, we have
also provided Talent Scout Cards to our existing employees
for their use as they encounter other individuals
who may be interested in pursuing a career with our
company.
Fair Workplace
We comply with all applicable employment and labor
laws in the countries where we do business. We recognize
international labor standards and respect the human
rights of our employees and business partners. We
do not employ anyone under the legal age of employment,
and we do not tolerate forced labor, physical or other
abuse, or harassment of any kind. We have a range
of workplace policies at the corporate, business unit,
country and local levels that support these principles,
and accountability rests with the Senior Vice President
of Human Resources.
Labor Relations
We respect and protect the rights of our employees
to join or not join a labor union. We ensure that
those rights are exercised without fear of retaliation,
repression or any other form of discrimination, and
CCE respects freedom of association.
Approximately 18,150 of our employees in North America
in 169 different employee units are covered by collective
bargaining agreements, and approximately 10,700 of
our employees in Europe are covered by local labor
agreements.
We inform and consult with employees and with unions
on major changes in our business as soon as we are
reasonably able to do so. We have a commitment to
good-faith bargaining and communicate with all interested
parties on business
changes and impacts. In 2005, 37 labor contracts in
North America were successfully negotiated. Employees
covered by three of those contracts in Los Angeles,
California, and Hartford, Connecticut, honored a work
stoppage called by their respective union leaders;
however, we were able to come to a successful resolution
swiftly. In Europe, we also conduct ongoing dialogue
with the European Works Council.
