| Coca-Cola Enterprises is firmly committed to providing increased opportunities for minority and women business enterprises (M/WBEs) to work with our bottling operations. In keeping with this commitment, we strongly encourage our prime (1st Tier) suppliers to utilize these businesses, particularly in conjunction with CCE-contracted projects. What is 2nd Tier? 2nd Tier is the process through which prime suppliers engage M/W/VBEs in direct support to their contracts or projects. Our commitment to maximize 1st and 2nd Tier supplier diversity opportunity is integrated throughout our supply chain. Prime suppliers participating in Coca-Cola Enterprises’ 2nd Tier Initiative can report their Direct Spend, Indirect Spend or both to CCE quarterly. It is a requirement that any 1st Tier supplier doing business with CCE in excess of $5M annually, reports all 2nd Tier activity supporting goods and services rendered to CCE. As a result of the efforts of our 2nd Tier Supplier Initiative, many of our prime suppliers have embraced Supplier Diversity as a business imperative. Expectations for 1st Tier Suppliers:
We request our Prime suppliers to report Direct, Indirect or both to us on a quarterly basis. Using the on-line reporting tool, prime suppliers can enter spend data that will be consolidated into a system generated report. Direct 2nd Tier: According to National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), 2nd Tier spend with M/WBEs can be Direct or Indirect. The Direct spend is to engage M/WBEs directly on the customer’s contract or project and report to the customer only the amount paid to these specific M/WBEs. Therefore, each 2nd Tier dollar can be traced back to a specific diverse supplier and to a specific task on the contract or project. Indirect 2nd Tier: The indirect spend calculates the 2nd Tier spend by prorating the prime suppliers’ company-wide M/WBEs spend with the percentage of its total business represented by the customer company’s business. (For example, if the primed supplier spends $100 million annually with M/WBEs and a particular customer represents 1% of its total business, the 2nd Tier spend would be $1 million($100 million x 1%). Using this method, one may not be able to trace the spend back to a specific M/WBE. We encourage our prime suppliers to engage more M/WBEs in their businesses. Reporting 2nd Tier Spend: To start on-line reporting, you must register. The system will provide the login ID and password. Reports are due by the 10th business day of January, April, July and October. A prime supplier needs to log into https://supplier.cokecce.com, utilizing the password received from an auto email after his/her on-line registration, then: • Click on Direct 2nd Tier Report/Indirect 2nd Tier Report to report spend Or, • Download an online template, • Populate supplier and spend information into it, and • Upload it back into the system.
