We’ve recently opened a new Development and Innovation Lab at Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, United States – a leading university that focuses on high-impact research. Twenty of our IT employees will be based there to help us uncover innovative solutions across our company.

Here are five things you need to know about our new project:

  • The Lab is located within the University’s Tech Square which is already home to innovation hubs for start-ups, venture capital firms and several other Fortune 500 companies including Starbucks and Panasonic.
  • Around 20 of our IT employees have moved there from our Atlanta HQ to gain access to leading faculty, students and research around emerging technologies and new working methods.
  • The Lab is almost 5,000 square feet in size, the same size as an NBA basketball court.
  • The Lab will focus on exploring big data analytics and new technologies to help accelerate our business, such as on-can printing, wearable technology, and Bluetooth beacons. We will explore how these tools could impact the way we approach business within our operations and throughout our supply chain.
  • We’ll also work to help our retail customers improve efficiency and drive sales by exploring emerging technologies to develop business apps that will help them with product ordering, supply chain management and consumer insights.
